Adrian donned the gloves for Liverpool during the period Alisson Becker was on the sidelines with an injury – the senior man has since returned to reclaim his place in the starting XI.

Jurgen Klopp has stated that he has ‘no clue’ what Liverpool duo Adrian and Alisson Becker do in training, but he did admit that he loves watching them in action.
Alisson recently returned to action for Liverpool when they recorded a 1-1 draw at Manchester United, with Klopp sharing that Adrian took the news that he was to be dropped to the bench in a ‘calm’ manner.
On the opening day of the season, Alisson suffered an injury against Norwich, which meant that summer signing Adrian found himself taking the goalkeeping gloves for Premier League and Champions League games.
Ahead of Liverpool’s Wednesday night Champions League game against Genk, Klopp shared that it was obvious that Alisson was going to return back into the starting fold when fit, as he expressed his thoughts on watching the goalkeepers in action in training.
“It was always clear when Ali was fit he would play,” Klopp told the Liverpool Echo. “Adrian took it calm, they have been good for each other in training, the spirit in that goalkeeper training group is really strong. I like watching them, I have no clue what they do but I like watching them.”

It wasn’t long ago that Adrian was a free agent and he was looking to find a new club as he seemingly won the lottery ticket with his move to Liverpool.
During his time in the starting XI, he provided healthy performances for Liverpool, as Klopp is well aware that he has a very good back-up if something were to happen again.
Alisson will now don the gloves for games in the Premier League and in Europe, as Adrian could potentially return to the starting XI for Liverpool’s EFL Cup clash next week.
