Leeds United were in pre-season action on Wednesday night as Junior Firpo made his debut in a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers.
The Whites fell behind with Connor McBride’ deflected free kick finding its way into the net as Illan Meslier had no chance.
Leeds did find a leveller though with Pascal Struijk firing home from a Jack Harrison pass to give Marcelo Bielsa’s men a draw.
Leeds are still a couple of weeks away from opening up the season, but this was a great workout for Bielsa’s side – and especially for Firpo.
Firpo, 24, joined Leeds from Barcelona this summer, solving Bielsa’s left back issue given that Ezgjan Alioski has moved on this summer.
Firpo was highly rated at Real Betis before losing his way a little at Barca, and he is now looking to become a star at Elland Road.

The left back started for Leeds for the first time last night, and he was clearly impressed with the 4,500 travelling Leeds fans at Ewood Park.
Firpo took to Instagram to praise supporters, admitting he can’t even imagine how great it will be to play at Elland Road if the Leeds fans were so vocal for a friendly last night.
