Journalist Julien Laurens told ESPN that it’s ‘not impossible’ for Barcelona to sign rumoured Liverpool target, Erling Braut Haaland.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth previously claimed that the sought-after Dortmund star would be keen on a move to Liverpool and a link-up with Jurgen Klopp.
But it doesn’t seem as though Liverpool are the only ones chasing Haaland’s signature, with Manchester City and Chelsea also keen, according to 90 minutes.
Two names that are on the lips of football supporters around the world are Haaland and PSG’s speed machine, Kylian Mbappe.
Ask the Liverpool supporters then either one would be welcome at Anfield any time soon, as French journalist, Laurens was asked whether Barcelona could be another destination for Haaland.
“Well, they will need to find a lot of money for that,” said Laurens. “Right now, they don’t have the money to sign him, whatsoever.
“In three months time, if the Barcelona president works his magic, if they manage to save some money somewhere, they have a lot of investment coming in. That’s a lot of ‘ifs’ already.
“Then, maybe, they could find the money. But we are talking easily £100-150 million euros. As we know, the following summer in 2022, there is that release clause of £75 million that kicks on.
“But, right now, this is the price we are talking about. They will have a lot of money to find given they have got over £1 billion in debt. But I guess, it’s not impossible.”

There is going to be some fight for Haaland in the summer and Liverpool should feel they can use their powers to prize him to Merseyside.
Manchester City and Chelsea will be their obvious rivals in England, and those trio don’t want the likes of Real Madrid or Barca joining the party because then it will make life difficult for them to sign him.
But if Liverpool can secure Champions League football for the next season after an injury-hit campaign then that refreshment that they need in the forward areas might just come in the form of a rising Norwegian superstar.
