With Julian Ward leaving Liverpool, there’s speculation about who the Reds could hire as a replacement.
Ward has only been the club’s primary transfer guru since the summer following Michael Edwards’s departure.
However, it was announced in November [Sky Sports] that Liverpool would have to hire another sporting director for 2023 summer transfer window and beyond.
Despite a very short spell in Edwards’s boots, though, Ward could still leave a lasting legacy at Anfield.
Jude Bellingham is Liverpool’s top priority for 2023, according to widespread reports.

And what a goodbye present Ward could gift to Jurgen Klopp’s side if he can lay the groundwork for that deal to be done.
Bellingham won’t be going anywhere in January, but he very possibly will next summer and therefore Ward and his colleagues will have the guts of six months to lay the foundations for the club to sign him.
Edwards pulled off an array of stunning transfers for Liverpool, whether they were outgoings or incomings.
Ward, due to obvious time constraints, will be unable to leave the same sort of legacy, but he certainly does have time to help Klopp land the England international and if that happens, well he’ll have done a hell of a lot of good in only one year.
