West Ham United’s performances and results have improved without the Frenchman.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic and coach Julian Dicks
Hammers first-team coach Julian Dicks sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website and explained how the team’s unity has improved drastically since Dimitri Payet left the club in January.
The West Ham players have, without question, performed as more of a team since the Frenchman’s exit, and the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio have flourished in his absence.
Slaven Bilic’s side now sit in 11th position in the Premier League table, and can jump back to ninth with a win over league leaders Chelsea at the London Stadium tomorrow night.
And Dicks highlighted how the team spirit has improved in the wake of Payet’s exit, when speaking to WHUFC.com:
“Obviously, things weren’t so good when Dimi [Payet] was here, because everything was focused on him, but now he’s gone and we seem to have a better team spirit, to be honest. The boys have pulled together and results have shown that.”

The East Londoners have won six and drawn two of their last 11 Premier League outings, and a win tomorrow against Antonio Conte’s men would underline the improvements they have made over the past two months.
That will, of course, be easier said than done, however, but if Bilic’s men can start the game on the front foot, by getting in and amongst the Blues straight from the kick off, then they will be more than capable of causing an upset.
