West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has had to endure an extremely difficult campaign this term.

Hammers first-team coach Julian Dicks sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared his great admiration for Slaven Bilic, highlighting the difficult positions that the Croatian has had to deal with this season.

West Ham currently sit in 11th position in the Premier League table, but have the chance to jump back up to ninth with a win over Chelsea tomorrow night.

They would also close the gap on eighth placed West Bromwich Albion to just four points if they manage to get the better of Antonio Conte’s men – something easier said than done of course.

Bilic deserves huge credit for the manner in which he has managed to steer his side away from any kind of relegation trouble, and guide them into the safety of mid-table.

And Dicks explained how his former teammate does not get the credit that he deserves for the job he has done since taking charge of the Hammers, as quoted WHUFC.com:

“To be a manager is a difficult position to be in because, when things are going well, the players get the credit but, when things are going wrong, the manager gets the stick. I’ve known Slav a long, long time and sometimes you have to bite your lip when people are saying things.”

Reports emanated earlier this week that Bilic will be offered a new deal to stay at the club (Daily Mail), and for the services he has given to West Ham, it would be totally deserved.
