Arsenal have been linked with a host of creative players this month, but the emergence of Emile Smith Rowe makes such a deal seem less likely.

One of the names recently linked is Julian Brandt, having endured something of a frustrating season over at Borussia Dortmund.

Football.London report that Brandt could be interested in signing for Arsenal on loan, but Dortmund are somewhat reluctant to do business in January.

The 24-year-old has been struggling this season, but he enjoyed a big moment on Tuesday night – his first league goal in more than a year!

Dortmund took on Bayer Leverkusen last night, and Brandt fired a superb right-footed strike into the net, equalising against his former club before Leverkusen managed to win 2-1.

The last time Brandt scored a Bundesliga goal was the 18th of January 2020, so an entire year had passed without him finding the net.

It didn’t help Dortmund pick up any points, but it at least broke his own personal hoodoo in great style.

So what about Arsenal? Well, you’d have to imagine that Brandt now wants to use this goal to spark his season into life with Dortmund, with any Arsenal hopes taking something of a hit.
