Argentina fans are not underestimating England ahead of their World Cup semi-final in Atlanta next week.

Argentina reached the semi-final with an unconvincing 3-1 victory over Switzerland after extra time on Saturday.

England also needed extra time to beat Norway in the quarter-final, as Jude Bellingham scored twice in a 2-1 win.

Lionel Messi is now set to play against England for the first time in his international career, and it will surely be a blockbuster.

The two teams have been rivals since the Falklands War in 1982, in which they fought over the British Overseas Territory.

The Argentinian players and supporters have not forgotten the conflict, as they often sing about England during their celebrations.

However, several Argentina fans have shown Thomas Tuchel’s side plenty of respect ahead of the clash.

Argentina fans believe England will be tough test in World Cup semi-final

Argentina and England have followed similar paths to the World Cup semi-final, often relying on character rather than quality.

Following England’s victory over Norway, the Argentina fans know they will be in for a tough match in Atlanta next week.

“The whole England team is very strong,” said an Argentine supporter. “Yeah, we have to worry about Harry Kane,” replied another.

“Bellingham and Kane are a very high level,” and “Jude Bellingham is the best,” were two more responses.

Indeed, Kane and Bellingham have been England’s two best players at this tournament, scoring a combined 11 goals.

However, some Argentina fans are feeling confident of beating England for the third time at the World Cup.

“I’m not going to come on the BBC and tell you we’re not going to f—— win the game. Of course, we’re going to win the game,” said one supporter.

Three others answered: “England, easy peasy,” “We’re going to get a win,” and “Oh, we feel confident.”

Meanwhile, another explained that Argentina’s “heart” is their biggest strength, which could lead them to consecutive World Cup finals.

“[England] have to worry about the Argentine heart. You have to worry about that,” she declared.
