Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has made it clear this week that he could leave the club in the summer. He is refusing to sign a new deal and is seemingly hopeful of playing Champions League football next term.
Plenty of teams have been linked but Manchester United have been discarded from the race by many. Lukaku, who is valued at £60 million according to the Metro, was let go by United boss Jose Mourinho whilst the Portuguese was Chelsea boss.
For many, that means he will not be targeted again.
But just look at Juan Mata.
Mourinho sold Mata to Manchester United after the Spaniard became surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge. At Old Trafford however Mata has become an integral member of the Manchester United first-team.
If United were to bring in Lukaku they would be signing one of Europe’s most exciting and lethal striking options.

The Red Devils need a new striking option for next season and the Belgian talent could be the perfect acquisition.
Past regressions must be forgotten and Lukaku could have an even bigger impact then Mata at the Theatre of Dreams.
