Juan Foyth has lauded the ‘perfect’ Giovani Lo Celso after he helped Tottenham secure a 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Mauricio Pochettino opted to start the summer signing and he produced the goods for his team as he found the back of the net in the first half.

The energetic and reliable Heung-Min Son then netted a brace for the North London outfit before playmaker Christian Eriksen came off the bench to add a fourth for his side.

After the game, Foyth, who also produced a solid display in defence for his team, was full of praise for the ‘fantastic’ Lo Celso.

“He is a great guy,” Foyth told Spurs TV. “Perfect player. We have enjoyed it a lot in having him in our team and he’s going to help us a lot.

“I think Gio played a fantastic game. He managed the ball very well. Of course, he scored and created a lot of chances. He’s a great player for us.”

It’s a much-needed win for Spurs and a boost the whole club has needed considering the pretty poor start to the season they have had.

Lo Celso’s performance would have impressed the Spurs fans also because he has found it tough since moving from Real Betis in the summer.

It remains to be seen whether Pochettino will stick with this team for their Premier League clash against Sheffield United at the weekend.
