Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has not been able to feature at all so far this season.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has told TYC Sports that he is fit again and ready to play at right-back for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Foyth picked up an injury over pre-season at Spurs, and he has been a big miss.

There was a strong suspicion that Foyth was set to be Tottenham’s first choice at right-back heading into the campaign, but he has not been fit to be used so far.

As a result Spurs have had to use a range of different options in the position – with Davinson Sanchez, Kyle Walker-Peters, Moussa Sissoko and Serge Aurier all given game time on the right-hand side of defence.

Unfortunately for Spurs none of the quartet have looked fully convincing.

But Foyth has suggested he is now ready to come back and fill the problem position.

“I’m happy to be back following my injury, I’m completely recovered. I rejoined the group two weeks ago,” Foyth said, after being called up to the Argentina squad.

“We all want to enjoy these friendly matches and to continue being taken into consideration. If I play as a central defender, that’s good but I can also play as a full back.”

Foyth’s return is a huge boost for Spurs, as his importance has only grown in his absence.

As well as struggling at right-back, centre-back has also been a major problem position for the Lilywhites.

If Foyth can prove his fitness over the international break, he could come back into Spurs’s team to play against Watford in two weekends’ time.
