Juan Foyth joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
The North London outfit recruited Foyth from Argentine club Estudiantes for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £8 million.
The 19-year-old operates as a central defender and has arrived at Spurs with a strong reputation.
Foyth has expressed his delight at joining Spurs and has also spoken about the Argentine influence at the club.
“I know the club has great history and is one of the biggest clubs in England,” Foyth told Tottenham’s official website.
“I’m very happy to be here, it’s a dream for me. I also know that many young players are in the team at the moment. I think there’s a wonderful project here.”
“Ardiles and Villa were great players and I know they gave so much for this club,” said Foyth when asked about Argentine influence at Tottenham.
“Erik Lamela has been here for quite a while and has been doing really well, now Paulo Gazzaniga is here too and both he and I are going to try to make the most of this opportunity.”
Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signings
Tottenham were quite busy in the summer transfer window and signed a number of players, including Foyth.
Spurs secured the services of central defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax, goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga from Southampton, right-back Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-Germain, and striker Fernando Llorente from Swansea City.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished second in the Premier League table last season and will be aiming to win the league title during the 2017-18 campaign.
Tottenham are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with four points from three matches.
