According to Juan Foyth, Eric Dier was left in disbelief at how good his Tottenham teammate Giovani Lo Celso really is.
Speaking to 90min, the Argentine said: “I remember a game, we were talking to Eric Dier on the bench and he told me, ‘I can’t believe he [Lo Celso] doesn’t play for Real Madrid or Barcelona’.”
Now, that is very high praise indeed from the England international.
In our view, the Tottenham fans are yet to actually see the best of the £27.2 million man signed by Mauricio Pochettino.
Lo Celso has struggled with injuries this season, which have disrupted his form just as it looks like he’s found some rhythm.
As Transfermarkt shows, the 24-year-old scored against Ludogorets, before picking up an injury.

Then, he returned to score against Royal Antwerp, before missing the next three Europa League games with a hamstring problem.
In Premier League action, he scored against Manchester City and grabbed an assist against Liverpool, only to miss 14 games in a row.
Lo Celso has had no luck whatsoever fitness-wise this term, but there’s no denying he’s a fine footballer.

It’s no surprise to see that Dier thinks he could play for two of the biggest clubs on the planet.
The former Paris Saint-Germain maestro really is that good.
For his and Tottenham’s sake, let’s hope he can stay fit after managing 45 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle last time out.
