Liverpool were far too good for West Ham United yesterday.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp addressed the media yesterday, in the aftermath of his side’s superb 4-0 win over West Ham United at Anfield, and highlighted one thing that disappointed him about their performance, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Klopp spent heavily in the summer, bringing in four new faces to the tune of nearly £180 million, and people people are backing the Reds to make a sustained push for the Premier League title this season.

And if yesterday’s performance is anything to go by, they have every chance of toppling Pep Guardiola’s magnificent Manchester City side come what May.

Klopp, though, wasn’t completely satisfied with his side’s display yesterday, highlighting what they could have done better, as quoted by the club’s official website:

Jurgen Klopp the head coach

“For us it was not perfect, but really good. The start was good. After being 1-0 up, maybe we didn’t have exactly the same dominance, we felt the intensity. You saw we were not as compact anymore in that period when Arnautovic had a chance and they had a few set-pieces. They were obviously taller than us today, so that was always a bit tricky, with the wind also.”

The German was obviously being overly critical of his side for a reason, and he is probably just saying those things to keep his players on their toes.

Liverpool will face sterner tests over the course of the season than they did yesterday, that much is certain, but Klopp’s men already look like the real deal, and it would be no surprise to see them win the league this term.
