Liverpool are well in contention to win both major trophies this season.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp spoke to reporters today, ahead of his side’s clash with Bayern Munich tomorrow night, and responded when asked whether he would prefer to win the Premier League or the Champions League, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds currently sit in second spot in the Premier League table, behind Manchester City due to an inferior goal difference, although they have played one game less than the champions.

Klopp’s men face a tough task in Europe, with a difficult tie against five time European champions Bayern Munich in the last 16, but they are more than capable of beating the Germans.

What trophy would Klopp prefer if he could choose just one, however?

The German addressed the media today, and provided an answer to that exact question, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo:

“It’s difficult for me to answer the question but for all Liverpool fans it’s the Premier League. That’s clear. But for now it’s the Champions League and we have to do our best tomorrow. Thank God we don’t have to decide that right now.”

Liverpool have not won the top flight title since 1990, whereas they were successful in the Champions League 14 years ago, so everyone at Anfield would surely take the domestic crown, if they were offered a choice out of the two today.
