The Gabon midfielder made his first start for Sunderland in their latest defeat.
One of few positives for Sunderland was the performance of Didier Ndong, who started his first game for David Moyes’ side.
The midfielder made a substitute appearance in the 3-0 loss to Everton where he showed little of his ability, but he was included in the starting XI for the trip to White Hart Lane and showed glimpses of what he can bring to Sunderland.

A lot of questions were asked when Sunderland paid a club-record £13.6 million to Lorient for the Gabon midfielder, with Ndong relatively unknown to the majority of the red and white faithful.
The 22-year-old played alongside Lee Cattermole and Jan Kirchhoff in a three-man midfield against Tottenham, and although Sunderland did little to worry the North London club, the performance of Ndong was certainly a positive for Moyes.

Sunderland’s number 17 used the ball well and provided a strong shield in front of the defence, which was only breached by Harry Kane due to a Papy Djilobodji mistake.
Despite seeing their side fail to pick up any points, leaving them in 19th place, Sunderland fans took to Twitter to react to praise the performance from their record signing.
