Southampton beat Inter Milan 2-1 in the Europa League.
Southampton fans will never forget 3 November 2016, the day they beat three-time Champions League winners Inter Milan.
The victory was another milestone on this incredible journey the Saints have been on over the past six years, going from League One to the Europa League.
The night did not get off to the greatest of starts though. Having beaten Southampton already in the competition, Inter Milan took the lead after 33 minutes through Argentinean striker Mauro Icardi.

Claude Puel’s side were gifted the perfect opportunity to equalise on the stroke of half time, but Dusan Tadic missed his penalty, meaning they went into the break a goal down.
The game hinged on five minutes of ecstasy for Southampton. In the 64th minute, centre back Virgil van Dijk drew the home side level. In the 69th minute, Inter Milan defender Yuto Nagatomo put through his own to put the Saints 2-1 up and complete a remarkable turn around.

Southampton managed to see out the victory as the St Mary’s crowd witnessed something they could only have dreamed about when the club were relegated to League One. The result will go down in history as one of the biggest, but it is certainly not a culmination of their incredible journey.
Saints fans witnessed something very special on Thursday night, and have taken to Twitter to try and put into words how they are feeling.
