Middlesbrough drew 1-1 with Manchester City thanks to a late equaliser.
Middlesbrough snatched a late point against Manchester City thanks to Marten de Roon’s 91st-minute strike.
Pep Guardiola’s side took the lead late in the first half through Sergio Aguero, converting from close range after a fantastic cross from Kevin De Bruyne.
The home side should have killed the game off, but a series of sensational stops from Middlesbrough goalkeeper Victor Valdes ensured that there was a glimmer of hope for Aitor Karanka’s side.

That hope turned into reality in stoppage time when Dutch midfielder de Roon headed home George Friend’s cross, ensuring that Middlesbrough returned to Teesside with a point.
The draw lifts Karanka’s side up one place to 14th ahead of Crystal Palace, and they are now unbeaten in three. A point was not enough for Manchester City to stay top of the Premier League, with Chelsea’s win over Everton seeing Guardiola and company drop to second.

Middlesbrough have had some sensational results at the Etihad Stadium in recent memory, and de Roon’s late leveller ensured the away fans had another spectacular trip to Manchester.
The 25-year-old Dutchman has hardly been a star in red this season, but de Roon made himself a hero with his header, sending supporters wild in the Etihad and on Twitter.
