Newcastle won their last game 1-0 against Rotherham, having coming from behind to beat Norwich 4-3 earlier in the week.
Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles has said the win over Rotherham was a bigger achievement for him than the comeback against Norwich, speaking to The Chronicle.
The 22-year-old put in an impressive performance at centre back against the Millers last time out, and Lascelles has explained why he preferred that victory over the epic comeback against the Canaries.

“I would rather win 1-0,” Lascelles told The Chronicle.
“Getting clean sheets for me is a massive achievement.
“It was physical and direct at Rotherham compared to Norwich. I think it took character from us to step up and be on the front foot and clear the ball.”
Newcastle’s 1-0 win at the New York Stadium courtesy of Christian Atsu’s wonder strike left them in third place in the Championship going into the international break, just three points off top spot.

The trip to Rotherham forced Newcastle to show different qualities to the ones they showed against Norwich. Last time out, they had to defend resolutely and battle their way to three points, doing the dirty side of the game.
Against Alex Neil’s side, the Magpies had to dig deep and show their character, fighting from 3-1 down with the St James’ Park crowd cheering them on and eventually erupting when Dwight Gayle found a 96th minute winner.
While captain Lascelles will be more than happy to keep clean sheets and win 1-0, the ecstasy the fans experienced against Norwich was a moment to savour for the Geordie faithful, who have not had many victories like that to celebrate in recent years.
