Hull City reached the fourth round of the EFL Cup with a 2-1 victory over Stoke, thanks to a late goal by Markus Henriksen.
The Potters took the lead in the 24th minute through Marko Arnautovic and despite dominating proceedings, went into half time level after Ryan Mason brought the Tigers level just before the break, assisted by Henriksen.

Although they were pegged back before the break, Mark Hughes’ side continued to create the better chances and see more of the ball, having 21 shots at goal compared to Hull’s five attempts.
As the tie looked destined for extra time, with Stoke unable to find a second goal, Norwegian midfielder Henriksen popped up in the box to win the game for Hull in the 91st minute.
Henriksen’s late winner booked Hull’s place in round four of the competition, where they will head to Championship side Bristol City, who knocked out Fulham in round three with a 2-1 victory.

The win for Mike Phelan’s side carries on their strange start to the season, as they continue to defy the odds despite a small squad and no decision made on who will be the club’s permanent manager.
Despite seemingly robbing a victory at the bet365 stadium, Hull fans have taken to Twitter to praise the performance of their match winner, Henriksen.
