Huddersfield suffered the first defeat of the season after a 1-0 defeat away to Brighton.

David Wagner’s side travelled to the Amex Stadium with high hopes, sitting top of the Championship having yet to lose a game, but that run came to an end courtesy of an Anthony Knockaert goal.

Brighton had lost their previous two games and went into the game as the underdogs, but the Seagulls were the team celebrating at full time as they climbed up to seventh.

The game was decided in the 80th minute when Knockaert’s shot was deflected and slipped through the hands of Brighton keeper Danny Ward.

The Welsh stopper, on loan from Liverpool, has started the season brightly for the Terriers, but he will know that he should have dealt with the Frenchman’s effort, which ultimately cost Huddersfield the game and their unbeaten record.

Although they are still top of the league, albeit by just a point now after Newcastle’s win, Huddersfield fans have taken to Twitter to react to Ward’s howler.
