Fulham were knocked out of the EFL Cup, with Bristol City coming from behind to advance to the next round of the competition.

The Cottagers took the lead after 14 minutes when Brazilian forward Lucas Piazon’s header looped past Bristol City keeper Ivan Lucic.

Lee Johnson’s side drew level on the brink of half time, with Aaron Wilbraham neatly dinking the ball home to make it 1-1 before the break.

With the scores level, Fulham were gifted a chance to go back in front when Cauley Woodrow was fouled in the box. The winner of the penalty stepped up to take it, but was foiled by Lucic, who dove to his right to palm the ball away.

Having scored at the end of the first half, Bristol City did the same again at the end of the second, with the in-form Tammy Abraham finding the net to ensure his side were in the hat for the fourth round of the EFL Cup, and knocking Fulham out of the competition.

With their EFL Cup dreams now over, Fulham fans have taken to Twitter to react to Woodrow’s performance.
