Dele Alli has signed a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur, the club confirmed on Twitter on Monday morning.
The midfielder has extended his deal until 2022, adding an extra year to the contract he signed in January.
After a sublime start to his career at White Hart Lane, the 20-year-old was given an improved deal eight months ago, but he has been rewarded further by chairman Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino, extending his stay at Tottenham by another year.
Alli joins a host of players who have signed new deals at the North London club this summer, with Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier and Tom Carroll all receiving contract extensions.
Spurs’ number 20 has recently rediscovered his form, having started the season in stuttering form following a disappointing European Championship campaign. Alli got his first goal of the season in the 4-0 victory over Stoke City and was a key player in the 1-0 win over Sunderland, which lifted the club up to third in the Premier League.
Alli was a key figure in Tottenham’s title charge last season, and he will have an important role to play if they are to mount another serious challenge for the Premier League crown.
The youngster has already shown how talented he is, making the step up from League One to England international, and Alli should only continue to grow under boss Pochettino, who has shown how good he is at nurturing young talent during his career in management.
