Blackburn’s Championship season got off to the worst start possible when they were beaten 4-1 by Norwich City.

Owen Coyle’s first competitive game as Blackburn boss saw his new side lose 4-1 to Norwich City.
Rovers were 3-0 down after 25 minutes, with Norwich’s goals coming from Jacob Murphy, Wes Hoolahan and Cameron Jerome.

It was 4-0 within an hour at Ewood Park, as Steven Naismith added more gloss to the scoreline in the 58th minute. Blackburn managed to score a consolation before the end, with new signing Anthony Stokes getting on the score-sheet on his debut for the Lancashire club, after signing on a free from Celtic.
Alex Neil and his men in yellow could not have asked for a better beginning to life in the Championship, whereas it was a horror start for Blackburn.

Although the Canaries are one of the favourites for promotion, making it a difficult opener for Coyle, Blackburn’s dismal performance did little to show that they will be a force over the coming season. In fact, it suggested how difficult it is going to be for Coyle’s side, who finished last season in 15th.

With Blackburn ending the first weekend of the new Championship season in 23rd place, fans of the club took to Twitter to express their feelings after receiving a battering at home to Norwich.
