We catch up with the Nottingham Forest XI that beat Derby County 5-2 on December 29th, 2010.
It is the East Midlands derby this weekend, as Nottingham Forest make the short trip to face Derby County. Ahead of this fierce derby showdown, we catch up with the players that helped Forest to a memorable 5-2 win over their rivals six years ago.
A few members of this XI have since retired. Robert Earnshaw, who bagged Forest’s fourth and fifth goal of the game, left Forest in 2011 and went on to play for seven other clubs. Last year, he called time on his career while at MLS side the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Substitute on the day, Dele Adebola, has also hung up his playing boots. The forward had spells with Hull City, Notts County, Rochdale and Wrexham before ending his 21-year career at Rushall Olympic in 2013.
Two Forest players that were on loan from Premier League teams have now established themselves in the top flight. Ryan Bertrand played 19 games in his six-month loan deal at the City Ground. The left-back is currently a regular in Claude Puel’s Southampton side.

Aaron Ramsey made his Forest debut in this win 5-2 over Derby. He would make another four appearances before returning to Arsenal, where he has gone on to win the FA Cup twice. The midfielder was also an integral part of the Welsh national side that reached the semi-finals of the European Championships 2016.
The biggest surprise story of this XI has to be Wes Morgan. In January of 2012, the Nottingham-born defender ended his 10-year association with Forest to join Leicester City. After winning promotion to the Premier League, he would go on to achieve the unthinkable and captain his side to the 2015/6 Premier League title.
A majority of this XI still play in the Championship. Lee Camp has been ever-present for bottom of the league Rotherham United this season. The goalkeeper joined the Millers in 2015, following stints with Norwich City, Bournemouth and West Bromwich Albion. Camp was joined by Kelvin Wilson at the New York Stadium this summer.
Defenders Luke Chambers and Chris Gunter are also playing for Championship rivals. Chambers scored the opener against Derby, and has gone on to make over 200 appearances for Ipswich Town since moving to the club in 2012. Gunter is closing in on the same milestone for Jaap Stam’s Reading.
Gunter is joined at the Royals by Gareth McCleary, who was an unused substitute in the win over Derby. Lewis McGugan also watched from the bench that day, and currently plays for Sheffield Wednesday.

Marcus Tudgay scored a brace against Derby, and has been playing for League One side Coventry City since 2014. He is joined in League Two by Paul Anderson. The midfielder, who replaced Nathan Tyson in the 79th-minute of Forest’s win, is now part of Rob Page’s Northampton Town side.
Two members of this XI now play ply their trade outside of English football. Radoslaw Majewski has returned to Polish football with Lech Poznan, while Nathan Tyson plays for Scottish Premier League team Kilmarnock.
The only member of the match day squad to still play for Forest is Chris Cohen. However, Guy Moussi is training with Forest to regain fitness, as he searches for a new club. The midfielder has been a free agent since he was released by HJK Helsinki last February.
Substitute keeper, Paul Smith, is also without a club following his release from Southend United at the end of last season.
