Football Manager 2017, the latest in the popular football management simulation series, released its winter update this week. As West Ham United continue to look up the table after recovering from a disappointing start to their campaign, let’s see how Football Manager have rated their progress:
Improvement
Pedro Obiang’s and Darren Randolph’s fine form for the Hammers has been reflected in their improved FM17 stats.
Randolph, who became Slaven Bilic’s first-choice goalkeeper in November, has now surpassed Adrian’s ability on the game. While, Obiang’s form for the Hammers means is rated higher than teammates Mark Noble and Cheikhou Kouyate.
Manuel Lanzini and Arthur Masuaku have been given minor boosts to their attributes on FM17.
No improvement
The majority of West Ham’s side have seen their stats stay the same or drop slightly.
Surprisingly, Michail Antonio’s stats have stayed the same, despite notching up eight goals and five assists in Bilic’s side. He is joined by the likes of Winston Reid, Diafra Sakho Alvaro Arbeloa and Sam Bryam, who have all kept similar stats.
James Collins, Aaron Cresswell, Jonathan Calleri and Andy Carroll have all had their ability lowered slightly.
Gotten worse
Sofiane Feghouli’s mixed start to life in English football has led to a decline is his rating on FM17. Despite that, the Algerian is now West Ham’s highest rated player on the game following the departure of Dimitri Payet in January.
Adrian and Havard Nordtveit’s stats have suffered the most from the winter update. Both players have struggled to nail down a spot in Bilic’s starting-eleven during this campaign.
