We take a look at how Football Manager 17 have rated West Bromwich Albion’s players.

Football Manager fans will be glued to their computers for the foreseeable future following the released of FM17 today.

The highly-popular football management simulation game is known for its incredible detail, and even has a Brexit feature this year.

Each player on the game is rated out of 20 for physical, mental and technical attributes; so let’s take a look at which West Bromwich players have been given the best ratings.

Ben Foster is considerably better than Albion’s number two Boaz Myhill on the game. The England stopper’s goalkeeping attributes include 16 for his handling, reflexes and one on ones.

West Brom’s best back-four on the game is Tony Pulis’ first-choice defence from last season, with Craig Dawson, Gareth McAuley, Chris Brunt and Jonny Evans. Evans is Albion’s best defender according to the game and has been graded 16 for stamina and positioning.

McAuley’s reliability is reflected with 18 for his consistency and positioning; which he’ll need to make up for his lack of pace and acceleration – both rated 6. Brunt is ahead of Brendan Galloway and Allan Nyom as Albion’s best left-back, with his highest ratings being 17 for versatility and 16 for long shots.

Darren Fletcher, Claudio Yacob, Nacer Chadli and Matt Phillips make up the Baggies best flat midfielder four. Fletcher’s credentials as a leader are mirrored in his ratings, with full marks for his ability to play in important matches and 17 for his leadership. His central midfield partner Claudio Yacob has been given 18 for his positioning and bravery.

Tony Pulis has utilised Chadli just behind Salomon Rondon in recent weeks but Football Manager has his preferred position as left-midfield. In fact, James Morrison is more adept choice for an attacking midfield role on the game.

If Football Manager 17 rings true then Albion will have some issues with the consistency of their wingers, as Chadli and Phillips are both rated 10 for this attribute.

West Brom’s highest rated player on Football Manager 17 is Salomon Rondon. The powerful forward is seen as no slouch in front of goal after being given 16 for his finishing and heading.

His strike partner is Saido Berahino has also been given 16 for his finishing. Notably, the 23-year-old has been rated 11 for his natural fitness.
