West Bromwich Albion beat Arsenal 3-1 at The Hawthorns.

Ben Foster – 7

Made an important save from Aaron Ramsey in the first half and eased any pressure on the West Bromwich Albion back four with a typically commanding performance.

Craig Dawson – 8

Fantastic leaps to undo Arsenal’s static zonal marking. Dealt well with Arsenal’s fluid front line and should be the next Albion man to receive an England call-up.

Jonny Evans – 7

Helped to keep Danny Welbeck quiet. Showed any sceptical travelling supporters why Arsene Wenger was rumoured to be interested in the former Manchester United man.

Gareth McAuley – 7

Was not troubled by Arsenal’s pacey forward line.

Allan Nyom – 7

His mazy runs get The Hawthorns faithful on their feet. Kept Theo Walcott quiet before the Arsenal forward was withdrawn.

Nacer Chadli – 7

Always looks classy going forward but may have been at fault for failing to track Sanchez for the Arsenal equaliser.

James McClean – 8

The Republic of Ireland winger loves these big occasions. It’s hard to outpace Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin but McClean certainly had more energy and desire than the Spaniard. The winger offered Albion direct running on the counter attack and a brilliant corner for Dawson’s second.

Chris Brunt – 7

Mr Versatility put in a good shift in the centre of midfield. Wonderful pass to play through James McClean in the build up to the first goal and pinpoint cross to set up a big chance for Rondon in the second half.

Jake Livermore – 8

Backed up his England call-up with a performance that showed his all-round midfield qualities.

Darren Fletcher – 7

West Brom’s skipper is thriving alongside Livermore and put in a great shift to help shut down Arsenal’s passing game.

Salomon Rondon – 6

It was another frustrating outing for the Venezuelan. He had two good chances before he was replaced by Hal Robson-Kanu.

Subs:

Hal Robson-Kanu – 7

The former Reading man staked a claim for a run in Tony Pulis’ starting eleven after the international break. He led the line well and bagged the important goal to get Albion back in the lead.

Claudio Yacob – 6

Summed up the best and worst of his game in 15 seconds with an under hit pass followed by a clever interception to win back possession.

Sam Field – 6

Sensibly took the ball to the corner on an Albion breakaway to avoid any potential Berahino-Cardiff repeat.
