The pressure on Watford manager Walter Mazzarri continues to grow after his side was held to a goalless draw at home to Middlesbrough this weekend.
The Italian’s position has come under pressure following a run of one win in their last nine league games.
Although the club sit in 14th place with a seven point cushion over the relegation zone, some supporters feel a change of management is needed to arrest the club’s worrying run of results.
Mazzarri is the latest Watford manager to face the axe after Quique Sanchez Flores was let go at the end of the 2015/6 season, despite leading the Hornets to a FA Cup semi-final and a 13th-place Premier League finish.
If Mazzarri is shown the door, the Pozzos will be hunting for their ninth manager since taking over the club in 2012.
On a positive note, Watford’s goalless draw did mark their first league clean sheet since the 1-0 home win over Hull City in October.
Mazzarri’s next task – provided he keeps him job – will be to solve his side’s issues at the other end of the field. His goal-shy side have only managed two goals in their last six league fixtures.
