We take a look back at the last five meetings between West Bromwich Albion and Derby County ahead of their first fixture in six years.

Derby 2-1 West Brom (4^th November, 2006 – Championship)

Derby County fought back from a goal behind to take all three points against West Bromwich Albion. The visitors took the lead in the 26^th minute after Richard Chaplow bested Stephen Bywater in the Derby goal.

The Rams had to wait until the 69^th minute to find their equaliser through Matt Oakley’s 25-yard strike. Billy Davies side’s comeback was complete just minutes later, when Giles Barnes headed home Morten Bisgaard’s cross.

West Brom 1-0 Derby (2^nd December, 2006 – Championship)

West Brom bounced back from two home defeats to overcome a resilient Derby side at The Hawthorns.

Diomansy Kamara came close to breaking the deadlock when his strike was tipped onto the crossbar by Stephen Bywater. The Baggies’ patience paid off as John Hartson slammed home an 89th-minute winner.

Derby 1-0 West Brom (28^th May, 2007 – Championship play-off final)

Derby claimed their place in the Premier League inching past an unlucky West Brom side at Wembley. Tony Mowbray’s team looked more likely to find a winner and came agonisingly close as Kevin Phillips’ 20-yard shot struck the crossbar.

However, Derby found the important breakthrough in the 61^st minute, when Giles Barnes squared for Stephen Pearson to turn the ball past Dean Kiely. Going behind proved to a big blow for the Baggies, and the Rams saw out the rest of the game untroubled.

Derby 2-2 West Brom (5^th December, 2009 – Championship)

West Brom’s promotion push suffered a setback following DJ Campbell’s late drama at Pride Park.

Paul Dickov had put the hosts into a first-half lead before goals from Simon Cox and Graham Dorrans looked to have given Albion a late win. But four minutes into stoppage time, DJ Campbell rose to meet Lee Hendrie’s cross and grab a point for the hosts.

West Brom 3-1 Derby (27^th February, 2010 – Championship)

West Brom reclaimed second place thanks to a second half turnaround at the Hawthorns. Chris Potter tapped home Paul Green’s rebound to give Nigel Clough’s side the lead going into the break.

Chris Brunt’s second half double saw the Baggies take the lead, before Simon Cox rounded off their an excellent 45 minutes for Robert Di Matteo’s side.
