Ahead of their FA Cup clash this weekend, we take a look at the previous five contests between Norwich City and Southampton.

Norwich 0-0 Southampton (9th March, 2013 – Premier League)

The heroics of Southampton keeper Artur Boruc’s meant yet another shutout for goal-shy Norwich City.

The visitors had looked more likely to break the deadlock, before Luke Shaw brought down Grant Holt in the penalty area, with just seconds remaining. Holt stepped up to take the penalty only to be denied by a brilliant save from Boruc.

Norwich 1-0 Southampton (31st August, 2013 – Premier League)

Norwich picked up their first win of the season to end Southampton’s unbeaten start to the campaign.

The Canaries had to wait until the 69th minute for the breakthrough, as Nathan Redmond bagged his first Premier League goal with a fine strike from 20 yards.

Southampton 4-2 Norwich (15th March, 2014 – Premier League)

The Saints continued their hunt for European football despite a late scare from Norwich. Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked to be cruising to victory thanks to goals from Morgan Schneiderlin, Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez. But late strikes from Johan Elmander and Robert Snodgrass gave visitors some hope heading into the final moments at St. Mary’s.

Southampton would seal the victory seven minutes into stoppage-time through Sam Gallagher.

Southampton 3-0 Norwich (30th August, 2015 – Premier League)

Southampton overcame the 10-men of Norwich to secure their first Premier League win of the season. Steven Whittaker was given his marching orders midway through the second half, after picking up two yellow cards in three minutes.

The Saints made their advantage pay, as Graziano Pelle broke the Canaries resolve just before half time. A Dusan Tadic double in the second half wrapped up a convincing win for the hosts.

Norwich 1-0 Southampton (2nd January, 2016 – Premier League)

Norwich kicked off 2016 with a win over struggling Southampton. Ronald Koemen’s side went down to 10-men in the 73rd minute following Victor Wanyama’s tackle on Alex Tettey.

The hosts swiftly took advantage of Wanyama’s dismissal and scored three minutes later through Tettey. The win saw the Canaries move up to 14th in the table and within a point of Southampton.
