Football Manager 2017, the latest in the popular football management simulation series, released its winter update this week. After Liverpool’s flying start to the campaign and theor subsequent drop-off in form in recent months, let’s see how Football Manager have rated their progress:
No improvement
Divock Origi is one of a few Liverpool senior players to not see an increase in his stats. The Belgian enjoyed a run of four goals in four games from late November to mid-December, but he hasn’t found the back of the net in a league game since.
Minor improvements
Ragnar Klavan, Lucas Leiva, Simon Mignolet, Georginio Wijnaldum and Alberto Moreno remain some of Liverpool’s lowest ranked senior players on FM17, despite receiving small increases in their attributes from the winter update.
There have also been slight boosts to the stats of Emre Can, Nathaniel Clyne, Daniel Sturridge, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovern.
Big improvements
James Milner, who has been utilised as a fullback during this campaign, is now Liverpool’s highest rated defender on the game. While, skipper Jordan Henderson’s form has also seen his stats increase.
The most improved Liverpool senior player on the FM17 winter update is Adam Lallana. The England international enjoyed a fruitful start to the season with seven assists and seven goals, but hasn’t added to that tally since the 1-0 win over Manchester City in December.
Liverpool’s front trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have also been handed big increases in their stats after helping the Reds net 55 league goals this campaign. Coutinho remains the highest rated player in Jurgen Klopp’s side.
