Ahead of their clash this weekend, we take a look back at the last five meetings between Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom 1-1 Liverpool (2^nd February, 2014 – Premier League)

Kolo Toure’s mistake handed Pepe Mel’s West Bromwich Albion side a much needed point in their fight for Premier League survival. Daniel Sturridge had given Liverpool the lead midway through the first half with a simple tap in from a Luis Suarez’s pass. Liverpool could not add a second before Toure’s misplaced ball fell at the feet of Victor Anichebe, the ex-Everton man beat Simon Mignolet in the Liverpool goal to seal a point for the Baggies.

Liverpool 2-1 West Brom (4^th October, 2014 – Premier League)

West Brom arrived at Anfield on the back of three consecutive wins but fell behind to a well worked Adam Lallana goal. Albion were back on level terms eleven minutes after the restart, when Saido Berahino was brought down in the box by Dejan Lovren, the striker got up to slam home the equaliser from the penalty spot. Alan Irvine’s men could only hold on for five minutes as Jordan Henderson finished past Ben Foster to give Liverpool the win.

West Brom 0-0 Liverpool (25^th April, 2015 – Premier League)

These sides played out a stalemate at the Hawthorns to all but end Liverpool’s hopes of Champions League football. On his 500th league appearance, Steven Gerrard came close from a free-kick, as Liverpool dominated chances and possession. Jordan Ibe and Philippe Coutinho also came close but they couldn’t break down a resilient Tony Pulis team. The result saw West Brom move onto 37 points and within reach of Premier League safety.

Liverpool 2-2 West Brom (13^th December, 2015 – Premier League)

Divock Origi’s late deflected strike rescued a point for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. Headed goals from defenders Craig Dawson and Jonas Olsson had put West Brom ahead following Henderson’s 21st minute opener. The Baggies looked good value for a win but Origi’s equaliser meant they only came away with a point. At the final whistle, Klopp failed to shake hands with Pulis and led his team to celebrate the result in front of the Kop.

West Brom 1-1 Liverpool (15^th May, 2016 – Premier League)

West Brom and Liverpool contested a forgettable season finale at the Hawthorns, as the Reds rotated their squad ahead of the Europa League final. Salomon Rondon’s opener was cancelled out by a fine Jordan Ibe effort, with neither team needing a result on the final day of the season. West Brom were boosted by a fine performance from youngster Jonathan Leko while Liverpool welcomed back Jordan Henderson and Danny Ings from injury.
