Liverpool welcome Hull City to Anfield this Saturday on the back of impressive results against Leicester City and Chelsea. We look back at the last five meetings between Hull City and Liverpool.

Hull City 0-0 Liverpool (Premier League – 9th May, 2010)

Rafa Benitez’s final league game in charge of Liverpool was a disappointing goalless draw against already-relegated Hull City. A second-half strike from Steven Gerrard was as close as Liverpool came to breaking the deadlock. Ian Dowie’s side were unable to create any clear cut chances, and Dowie would also leave his position following the club’s formal relegation.

Hull City 3-1 Liverpool (Premier League – 1st December, 2013)

Steve Bruce led his Hull City team to their first ever victory over Liverpool. Goals from Jake Livermore, David Meyer and a Martin Skrtel own-goal moved Hull up to 10th place. Liverpool had equalised through a Steven Gerrard free-kick, but Brendan Rodger’s side never got a hold of the game. The result saw Liverpool drop down to 4th place.

Liverpool 2-0 Hull City (Premier League – 1st January, 2014)

A month later, Liverpool got their revenge with a comfortable win over Hull at Anfield. Daniel Agger put the Reds ahead before a wonderful Luis Suarez free-kick sealed the victory. The win saw Liverpool bounce back from defeats against Manchester City and Chelsea to move back into the top four. Hull remained in 10th place, but still only five points from the bottom three.

Liverpool 0-0 Hull City (Premier League – 28th October, 2014)

Hull held Liverpool to a goalless draw in a frustrating afternoon for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Mario Balotelli started for Liverpool, and the Italian forward failed to make his chances pay at Anfield. The draw marked a disappointing start to Liverpool’s season. For Hull, it was another impressive result on the back of a 2-2 draw at the Emirates.

Hull City 1-0 Liverpool (Premier League – 28th April, 2015)

Hull gave themselves some breathing space in the battle against relegation thanks to a first-half goal from Michael Dawson. Liverpool did work Steve Harper hard in the Hull goal, but couldn’t create a clear-cut opportunity. The defeat meant Liverpool stood little chance of catching Manchester United in 5th place.
