In first-half stoppage time, Brad Friedel failed to keep out Pedersen’s free-kick before the Danish midfield added a second midway through the second half. The win saw Rovers climb above Villa to 11th in the table,
Aston Villa 3-1 Blackburn (29th January, 2011 – FA Cup fourth round)
10-man Aston Villa booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a comfortable win over Blackburn.
It was all action in the first half, with Villa taking the lead through Ciaran Clark, only to be pulled level by Nikola Kalinic’s goal seven minutes later. Robert Pires and Nathan Delfouneso rounded off the scoring for Gerard Houllier’s side, who had Nathan Baker sent off for a two-footed tackle on David Hoilett.

Aston Villa 4-1 Blackburn (26th February, 2011 – Premier League)
A rampant Villa took apart Steve Kean’s Rovers side at Villa Park.
Ashley Young bagged a brace to move Villa above their visitors in the table and five points clear of the relegation zone. Grant Hanley’s own goal and Stewart Downing’s curling effort rounded off the scoring for Houllier’s men.
Aston Villa 3-1 Blackburn (20th August, 2011 – Premier League)
Villa’s secured their first win of the season in Alex McLeish’s first home game in charge of the club.
The victory came courtesy of goals from Gabriel Agbonlahor, Emile Heskey and Darren Bent, as the home side dominated proceedings. Morten Gamst Pedersen did score for the visitors but it was not enough to help his team off the bottom of the table.

Blackburn 1-1 Aston Villa (3rd March, 2012 – Premier League)
David Dunn’s 84th-minute equaliser gave Blackburn a point in this closely fought match between two relegation-threaten teams.
Charles N’Zogbia’s strike gave Villa a first-half lead, but Blackburn turned on the pressure in the second half, and finally got their reward when Dunn headed home Bradley Orr’s cross.
