10-man Hull City beat Watford 2-0 at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday.
Hull City supporters were full of praise for their side following a crucial 2-0 victory against Watford.
The Tigers had to do it with 10-men after on-loan Everton forward Oumar Niasse was sent off by referee Robert Madley in the 25th minute for a high tackle on Watford’s M’Baye Niang. It appeared to be a soft decision that left most of the KCOM Stadium in shock.
To make matter worse, the visitors nearly made their advantage count as Sebastian Prodl’s header was kept out by goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.
Etienne Capoue forced another fantastic save out of the Swiss stopper before Kamil Grosicki hit the Hornets on the counter attack. Grosicki, who signed from French side Stade Rennais in January, then crossed for on-loan Liverpool man Lazar Markovic to grab the important Hull opener.
Hull doubled their lead in the 71st minute through Sam Clucas. The 26-year-old hit a wonderful left-footed drive to give Heurelho Gomes no chance in the Hornets’ goal.
Marco Silva’s side held on to claim all three points and move onto 33. The win also maintains Hull’s two point gap from the relegation zone following Swansea City’s home win over Stoke City.
Next week, the Tigers travel to St Mary’s to face Southampton before 20th place Sunderland visit the KCOM at the start of May.
