Rickie Lambert
Lambert’s underwhelming one-year stay at West Bromwich Albion ended with a move to Cardiff City in August.
The former Liverpool forward could be on the move again in the summer after failing to make a league start since December. Lambert, 35, has failed to work his way into Neil Warnock’s plans with injuries only making matters worse. His last goal for the Bluebirds came against Aston Villa nearly six months ago.
Cristian Gamboa
The Costa Rica international joined Brendan Rodgers at Celtic in the summer.
After making his debut in the 7-0 Championship League defeat to Barcelona, the right-back gone on to make 11 league starts for the Hoops. Gamboa remains second-string to Mikael Lustig, with Celtic set for a clean sweep of domestic trophies.
James Chester
Chester joined West Midlands rivals Aston Villa following a frustrating stint under Tony Pulis.
The Welsh international has been ever-present in the league since his arrival at Villa Park and took the captain’s armband back in October. Now reunited with former Hull City boss Steve Bruce, Chester’s performances have been a highlight of Villa’s poor season.
Victor Anichebe
Anichebe looks set to face Chester in the Championship next season with his Sunderland side on the verge of relegation.
The powerful target man, who spent most of his Hawthorns career on the injury table, has scored three goals in 14 appearances for the Black Cats. David Moyes has often utilised the ex-Everton man on the left wing to accommodate top goal-scorer Jermain Defoe through the middle.
Anders Lindegaard
Goalkeeper Lindegaard lost his place in Preston North End’s starting line-up following a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford earlier in the season. The Dane looks set to leave Deepdale in the summer as he remains second choice to Chris Maxwell.
Saido Berahino
The Saido Berahino transfer saga finally ended in January, but the forward is yet to recapture his scoring touch. Berahino has lost five of his seven starts for the Potters and squandered golden opportunities against Liverpool and Swansea City in recent weeks.
Craig Gardner
Gardner’s fairy-tale move back to boyhood club Birmingham City has turned into a nightmare.
The midfielder, whose loan move becomes permanent in the summer, has seen his side register just two wins out of 17 since his return to St Andrews. He played the full 90 minutes in the Blues recent 1-0 defeat to fierce rivals Aston Villa.
Jonas Olsson
Olsson’s eight-year Baggies stay ended with a switch to Swedish side Djurgardens IF last month.
After a 2-0 loss in his debut, the giant centre-back helped the Allsvenskan team keep clean sheets against BK Hacken and IF Elfsborg.
