Sebastian Coates
Coates made his switch to Portuguese side Sporting permanent in the winter transfer window.
The defender has been in good form for the 3rd place Primeira Liga team, helping them to 12 clean sheets this season. He was also ever-present in Sporting’s Champions League campaign, as they faced the likes of Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Emanuele Giaccherini
Giaccherini’s disappointing spell in the North East ended with a move to Napoli.
The 31-year-old has been restricted to one league start all campaign for Maurizio Sarri’s men. It was in that start, against Genoa, that the midfielder bagged his only Serie A goal so far for Napoli.
Santiago Vergini
Vergini returned to Argentinean football in the summer. The centre-back has been a regular for league leaders Boca Juniors, keeping six clean sheets in 17 appearances.
Valentin Roberge
Fellow defender Roberge is playing first-team football once again.
The Frenchman is part of an Apollon Limassol side battling it out at the top end of the Cypriot First Division. Roberge has already featured more times for his new club than he did during his disappointing spell with the Black Cats.
Jordi Gomez
Gomez is currently on-loan with Rayo Vallecano having joined Wigan Athletic in August.
The playmaker was only on the winning side twice during 15 appearances for the Latics, who will be playing League One football next season, before moving back to Spain in January. Gomez has made six starts for the mid-table Segunda Division outfit.
Danny Graham
Graham, who scored one goal during his time at the Stadium of Light, faces a nervy run-in with relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers.
The forward is Rovers’ joint top-scorer in all competitions having netted eleven times in the Championship. Graham’s last league goal came back in January when he scored the equaliser against Birmingham City.
Wes Brown
Graham was joined by former Manchester United man, Brown, at Ewood Park in the summer. The 37-year-old has only managed three starts all season, including their recent 2-0 defeat to Barnsley.
Steven Fletcher
Fletcher has been a big driving force behind Sheffield Wednesday’s recent upturn in form.
The Owls’ play-off place looked under threat until the forward scored a brace to clinch victory over Rotherham United – their first win in four. He added goals against Newcastle United and Derby County to take his tally for the campaign up to ten.
Liam Bridcutt
The former Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder faces a tense wait to see if Leeds United make the Championship play-offs.
Bridcutt, who was appointed captain by Garry Monk upon his arrival at Elland Road, missed the early months of the Whites season with a metatarsal injury. He returned to action in December to play an important role in Leeds’ promotion push.
Charalampos Mavrias
Likewise, Mavrias has been given an opportunity to show his talents with German second tier side Karlsruher. Unfortunately, he is yet to register a goal or assist for the league’s bottom club.
Younes Kaboul
Kaboul looks set to be playing Premier League football next season after his Watford team reached the magic 40 point mark.
The former Tottenham Hotspur defender has managed 22 league appearances for Walter Mazzarri’s side, scoring the opener in the Hornets surprise victory over Arsenal back in January. He could miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.
Patrick van Aanholt
Van Aanholt’s Premier League status also looks secure having joined Sam Allardyce’s resurgent Crystal Palace.
The fullback scored in the crucial win over Middlesbrough before missing four games with an ankle problem. He returned for the games against Liverpool and Leicester City as a substitute.
