We take a look at how Brighton and Hove Albion have performed in the final ten games of the last three seasons.

A late resurgence from Brighton and Hove Albion helped to secure an unlikely place in the Championship play-offs.

Oscar Garcia’s men went into their final ten games three points off the play-off places before defeats to Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough saw the Seagulls further behind the pack.

However, Brighton would go on an unbeaten run, which included impressive wins over Leicester City and Charlton Athletic, to leave them one point behind 6th place Reading going into the final game of the season against Nottm Forest.

Leonard Ulloa’s stoppage-time winner secured a dramatic three points for the Seagulls, and a play-off tie with Derby County.

Brighton’s disappointing 2014/5 campaign ended with a whimper.

Chris Hughton’s side picked up one win from their final ten games, which came courtesy of a Matthew Kilgallon own-goal at Blackburn Rovers.

Defeats to fellow relegation-strugglers Rotherham United and Wigan Athletic didn’t prove to be costly, as the Seagulls finished the season six points clear of the drop zone.

Brighton’s unbeaten run-in saw them fall agonisingly short of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Chris Hughton’s side registered seven wins out of their last ten games, including convincing victories over Fulham, Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic. However, draws against Burnley and Derby County meant they went into the final game of the season needing to beat promotion rivals Middlesbrough.

Boro held the Seagulls to a goalless draw at the Riverside to guarantee 2nd place on goal difference, and condemn Brighton to the play-offs.
