Jozo Simunovic has taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Celtic confirmed on their official website that he has signed a new contract at Parkhead.

Simunovic has arguably established himself as the Hoops’ best centre-back with his performances since Brendan Rodgers’ arrival last summer.

His form had not gone unnoticed by clubs in the Premier League, with the Daily Mail’s live transfer feed (31st August 2017; 13:37 pm) reporting that Crystal Palace, Leicester and Watford had all been in contact with Celtic about a potential move for the former Croatia youth international during the summer transfer window.

However, Simunovic put an end to much of the speculation, with the club confirming on their official website that he has signed a new contract that is set to keep him with the Scottish Premiership champions until 2021.

And following the announcement, the 23-year-old took to social media to comment on the news, thanking the club and the fans for their support.

Unsurprisingly, the news has received an incredibly positive response from the supporters, with many noticing the fact that if the club continue their domestic dominance and keep winning league titles, then Simunovic’s contract will enable him to stay for the tenth league crown in a row – if they get that far.

Here is the best of the reaction…
