Celtic pair Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard have struck up a fine partnership.
Jozo Simunovic has told The Scottish Sun that he has no idea whether Celtic duo Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard will be playing together next season.
Celtic splashed a club-record £9 million on signing Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent deal this summer.
Manager Brendan Rodgers, who played with one main striker during his first two seasons at Parkhead, has since fused the young Frenchman in a two-pronged attack with the highly-rated Dembele.
The partnership has looked fruitful so far in pre season and there was further evidence of its potency again on Tuesday night as the Hoops thumped Alashkert 3-0 in a Champions League qualifiier in Armenia, with Edouard opening the scoring and Dembele impressing.
Dembele, a £500,000 signing from Fulham two years ago, has been a revelation in Glasgow but the price of such a success is constant speculation about his future.
It wouldn’t be a major surprise if big clubs came in for the 21-year-old before the transfer window shuts this summer, but Simunovic, who himself is linked with a £5 million move away [The Scottish Sun], claims that such questions need to be directed toward chief executive Peter Lawwell.
He told The Scottish Sun: “They have shown that they can cause problems for other clubs playing together in Europe this season.
“They’ve shown that they have everything. And I’m sure they are going to show more this season.
“Keeping them together isn’t a question for me. You would have to ask Peter Lawwell. But both of them working together could be incredible. They are very important for us.”
