Middlesbrough continue to ride the new manager bounce after Chris Wilder’s side claimed his third win in four games with the club after beating Championship giants AFC Bournemouth 1-0.

Andraz Sporar scored the sole goal of the match as the Slovenian attacker slotted home a penalty after Isaiah Jones was fouled in the penalty area, with the 22-year-old winger having a standout performance for Middlesbrough.

Jones has operated as a right-wing back since Wilder’s arrival at Riverside. And the London-born forward has thrived in the position, with the change in manager getting the best out of the attacker.

With rumours of Djed Spence returning to Middlesbrough, it appears that the chances of this happening are now quite low given just how well Jones has adapted to life under Wilder, with his performance against Bournemouth one of his best this season.

Indeed, the winger was sensational down the right-wing. And whilst Jones’ end product was more than to be desired, the youngster was a menace for Bournemouth in what could be a pivotal game for the Championship season.

Fulham now have the chance to go top of the table if they win on Monday night against Sheffield United, whilst Middlesbrough’s win against Bournemouth firmly puts the North Yorkshire club in the play-off race heading into the New Year.
