According to Sami Mokbel, Wolves are close to missing out on Pedro Martins as Hull City close in on the 52-year-old.
Wolves set to miss out on Pedro Martins
Well, the Mirror recently revealed that Wolves had made the Portuguese coach their No.1 option to replace Bruno Lage, who was sacked after the 2-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday night.
It was said that Wolves were weighing up a contract offer for Martins, although he now seems set to replace Shota Arveladze at Hull City.
Mokbel – a journalist for the Daily Mail – believes the Championship side are locked in advanced talks with the man who Olympiakos sacked just a matter of weeks ago.
It would be quite the coup for the Tigers if they can get Martins to sign on the dotted line, given the fact he was managing in the Europa League at Olympiakos as recently as this season.
Furthermore, it would be quite impressive if Hull City can somehow manage to beat a Premier League side in Wolves to his signature, as they currently sit 20th in the Championship.
Wolves can do better than Pedro Martins
In our view, there are better options out there for Wolves, so it wouldn’t be a total nightmare if Martins joins Hull City.
According to Sky Sports, the Old Gold are said to have earmarked Julen Lopetegui as their new No.1 target to replace Lage.
The Spaniard has managed Real Madrid as well as the Spanish national team in recent times, so he would certainly be an exciting addition at Molineux.
The Telegraph also mention that Bo Svensson is on their shortlist, a man who has been likened to Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel – the Dane would also be a very interesting appointment.
Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as things could advance at Molineux if Hull City snap up one of the available candidates to replace Lage.
