Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Liverpool sources have told him that they are not looking to sign Leeds United target Otavio in the summer transfer window.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Liverpool and FC Porto are denying that the two clubs are in talks over the transfer of Otavio.
Romano has added that the release clause of the 27-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, is €40 million (£34.40m), not €60 million (£51.60m).
Otavio linked with Liverpool and Leeds
Otavio has been linked with both Liverpool and Leeds in the summer transfer window.
The Mirror reported over the weekend that Porto were expecting a bid from Liverpool this week for Otavio.
Since then, Jornal de Noticias have claimed that the Portugal international’s agent has been speaking to Liverpool.

Leeds have had a bid of €30 million (£25.80 million) for Otavio rejected, according to a report in Portuguese outlet O Jogo last week week.
Otavio scored three goals and gave 11 assists in 32 Portuguese league matches for FC Porto last season.
Fabrizio Romano’s inside information
If Liverpool are not in for Otavio, then it enhances Leeds’s chances of signing the attacker.
If the West Yorkshire club are keen on the attacker, then they should pay the release clause.
