According to Matteo Moretto, West Ham could now sign Gerard Deulofeu for as little as €15m (£13m) as he looks set to leave Udinese.

What’s the story?

Well, this would be a bargain for West Ham.

The Italian journalist believes Deulofeu will leave Udinese this summer, after his fine form in front of goal this season.

Impressively, the Spain international has scored ten goals in Serie A this term, while also providing two assists.

It was Mundo Deportivo who revealed that David Moyes is keen to bring the 28-year-old back to the Premier League, where he starred for Everton and Watford.

Moretto adds that Deulofeu only earns €3m-a-year in Italy, which equates to £2.5m and a weekly wage of £48,076-a-week.

Therefore, the Spaniard is a very affordable signing for West Ham, and it looks to be a straightforward deal to complete.

Gerard Deulofeu would shine at West Ham

In our view, this would be a very smart move for the Irons.

Deulofeu boasts excellent Premier League experience, having amassed 127 appearances in England’s top-flight.

He is also right in the midst of his prime at 28, and under David Moyes – a coach who has a great track record of improving players – he could shine at the London Stadium.

It’s no secret that West Ham need more attacking reinforcements, specifically down the centre to help Michail Antonio.

Deulofeu often played out wide in the Premier League, but he has predominately played through the middle this term, which is perhaps why Moyes has taken an interest.

Keep an eye on this saga, as this deal seems like it could well happen given the numbers involved.
