Jack Pitt Brooke has told The View from the Lane podcast that Tottenham Hotspur’s manager may not be appointed until after the end of the season.
Football London have recently reported that Tottenham are pushing on with their search for a new boss, and are starting to finalise their choices.
However, Pitt Brooke has cooled any expectations that an announcement is imminent.
The Athletic journalist instead says that Tottenham fans are going to have to be very patient as they await news on their new manager.
He says that Tottenham are still some way away from appointment, and it may not happen until early June.
“Spurs are taking their time over the process,” he began. “There’s not going to be an announcement any time soon. I certainly am not expecting anything before the Leicester game, which is the last game of the season.
“Steve Hitchen is drawing up a three, four, maximum of five man shortlist and then they will move on to interviews.
“I would expect the announcement in late May or early June.
“The word coming from the club is that they want to get it right and make sure they don’t jump into it.”

That news may come as a disappointment for Tottenham fans, who could have been hoping that the club were closing in on Jose Mourinho’s successor after reports this week.
It also means that whoever Tottenham’s new boss is may not actually have time to work with the players before the start of next season.
If Tottenham’s manager doesn’t come in until after the final game of the season, Spurs’ players will be on their summer break – and that means that plenty of work will have to be put in over the summer to make sure everything is in place for him to be successful when football returns.
