Speaking on his YouTube channel, Charles Watts has been reviewing some of the Arsenal players’ performances at the World Cup so far, and he’s touched on Gabriel Jesus’ feelings heading into this tournament.
It doesn’t take a genius in body language to realise that Jesus has been more than a little annoyed by the fact he hasn’t scored in the World Cup so far, and according to Watts, Jesus is desperate to get his name on the scoresheet
The journalist has spoken to people close to the Brazil squad, and they say that Jesus’s failure to score in the 2018 World Cup and the criticism that came off the back of that has really impacted the player, stating that he’s desperate to right the wrongs of Russia 2018.

Jesus desperate to show up
Watts shared what he’s heard about Jesus.
“We could be seeing Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus getting a start. Gabriel Jesus, I really hope he scores, I know what it means to him to score in the World Cup. He got so much criticism last time when he didn’t score and Brazil didn’t win it. I know people close to the Brazil squad, Brazilian journalists all say how much that impacted Jesus and it would be great to see him score. You can see when he comes off the bench that he’s desperate to score,” Watts said.
Wants it too much
Every player heads to the World Cup desperate to make an impact, but it seems as though Jesus may want this a bit too much.
The striker is trying too hard in a Brazil shirt, getting frustrated at his teammates and with every passing minute that he hasn’t scored, he’s piling more pressure on himself.
Jesus needs to calm down, relax and play his natural game, and then the goals will follow.
