Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Mohamed Salah’s future at Liverpool and his huge contract demands.
It’s no secret that Salah wants a payrise at Anfield, but as of yet, Liverpool have been unwilling to cater to his demands.
According to Bailey, Salah is looking for around £450,000-a-week, and Liverpool have now told the Egyptian that he should leave the club if he can get that pay packet elsewhere, because he won’t be getting it while playing for the Reds.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Salah and his future.
“Yeah, he’s already said he wants to stay at Liverpool next season saying that he’s not going to leave this summer and he could go on a free, and Liverpool are quite happy with that, they’ve already said to him ‘if you think you’re going to go and get £450k-a-week elsewhere, go and get it, because you’re not getting it here’. That’s how it’s panning out. It’ll be interesting to see how the Barcelona situation comes to a head, they have a lot to do and with the Lewandowski links cooling down, do they go for Salah? I could see that,” Bailey said.
“In all likelihood it will be next summer and Liverpool will have gotten their money’s worth out of him and they will bid him a fond farewell knowing that they may already have his heir in Fabio Carvalho.”

Firm
Liverpool seem to be standing firm with Salah and his demands, but sadly, they’re playing a bit of a dangerous game here.
The Reds have told Salah to go out and get £450,000-a-week elsewhere, and the scary thing is that there are teams out there that would be willing to pay that.
PSG and Real Madrid both have the capability to fork out that much cash, while Barcelona always seem to find a way to keep spending despite their constant financial woes.
Interestingly, there’s also the prospect of a move to Newcastle United. The new richest club in the world could easily pay Salah what he is looking for, and the absence of a transfer fee could make that move very possible.
The Egyptian may well leave Anfield on a free next summer.
