Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Harry Kane’s future and Romelu Lukaku.
It has been reported that Lukaku is Tottenham’s number one option to replace Kane if he is to leave the north London club in the near future, and there have been some fleeting reports about a swap deal that would see Kane head to Chelsea and Lukaku move to Spurs.
However, while these rumours have been circulating, Jacobs is led to believe that there isn’t much chance of Lukaku actually ending up at Tottenham next summer, stating that the Belgian would rather stay at Inter and that a negotiation about a second loan spell is already underway.

Lukaku/Kane swap deal?
Jacobs shared what he knows about Lukaku and Kane.
“Some will have seen stories out there that suggest they may consider leveraging Lukaku to try to facilitate some kind of player-plus-cash deal, but Lukaku would like to stay at Inter, he would like another loan and Chelsea are already verbally talking about another one-year loan for Lukaku even though Graham Potter’s arrival may influence things,” Jacobs said.
Lukaku isn’t going anywhere
While swapping Lukaku for Kane seems logical due to the influence of Antonio Conte at Spurs, it’s fair to say that the Belgian won’t be going anywhere.
Think about it, Lukaku was pushing for months to return to Inter after a poor start to life at Stamford Bridge, and he’s not going to just leave Milan after one season.
Simply put, Lukaku loves life in Italy, and a return to London really won’t appeal to him after a poor spell at Chelsea.
Add in that Spurs won’t be keen to let Kane go and it’s hard to imagine that this deal has any legs to it.
