Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared what experts have told him Liverpool Football Club is now worth.

It’s been a tough week for the owners at Anfield amid the backlash they’ve been facing over the European Super League, and there’ve been plenty of fans calling for them to sell up.

Reports claim that FSG won’t sell for anything less than £2 billion, but Castles has been told by experts in the field that the club is worth a lot less than that.

“The Glazers are already in a position where they can sell Manchester United for a huge profit. FSG are similar, they bought Liverpool on the cheap and it’s now probably, talking to experts in the area, they think, even after the Super League setback, you’re looking at one to one and a half billion as a sale price for Liverpool.”

The report stating that Liverpool’s owners won’t sell up for less than £2 billion is now a little more interesting.

The Independent claim that FSG would be ‘glad’ to sell the club, but if they’re wanting half a billion pounds more than the club’s true value, then they’ll struggle to find a buyer.

It remains to be seen what will happen with the ownership at Liverpool, or any of the top six clubs, but with one reporter stating that one owner is keen to sell within the top six, it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
